How do I register for the symposium?

Registration for in-person attendance is closed as we have reached capacity for the venue. We apologize for the disappointment!

Registration for virtual attendance is now possible!

 

Will the symposium be accessible online?

As of October 27th, the symposium can be accessible online. As we reached the maximum capacity allowed at the venue, we opened registration for virtual attendance. You can now register until November 7th by the following the instructions here.

How much is the registration fee, and how do I pay?

The registration fee for virtual attendance is €10 for EFIS-affiliated society members and €20 for non-members.

The registration fee for in-person attendance is €50 for EFIS-affiliated society members and €60 for non-members.

Payment is by bank transfer to the German Society of Immunology (DGfI) or via PayPal, and details will be sent to you by email after your registration.  

PLEASE NOTE: Your national society membership must be paid in full for the year 2022 to be eligible for the Member Rate. If you have questions about your membership status, please email your national society.

Can I modify my in-person attendance registration to a virtual attendance registration and get reimbursed the difference?

If you registered for in-person attendance but now wish to attend the symposium virtually, you can send us an email to conference@yefis.org and we will share with you necessary information.

Unfortunately no refunds or reimbursements will be issued upon cancellation or modification of registration to virtual attendance.

I would like to pay via PayPal but did not receive the payment link when registering?

If you registered before payment via PayPal was available, you can request the payment link by sending us an email to conference@yefis.org.

What is included in the registration fee (virtual attendance)?

The registration fee covers attendance to lectures, presentations, workshops, panel discussions and conference materials. It does not include attendance to poster presentations and social events.

What is included in the registration fee (in-person attendance)?

The registration fee covers attendance to lectures and presentations, conference materials, lunch on both days, coffee and pastries during breaks, and social events. It does not include accommodation.

Will I receive confirmation of my registration?    
After you register, an immediate email confirmation will be sent to the email address you provided.

Can I pay the registration fee through my lab/institute?

You can request to pay the registration fee through your lab or institute by sending us an email to conference@yefis.org stating:

Please issue invoice to ... (your lab or institute, and the exact invoice address) for the registration of ... (your full name) to the yEFIS 1st Symposium. The registration fee is ...

50€ as I am a member of the ... society

OR

60€, as I am not a member of an EFIS-affiliated society

Will I receive confirmation of payment of the registration fee?

After you pay the registration, an email confirmation will be sent to the email address you provided. Receiving the payment confirmation email is delayed until September 2022. We thank you for understanding.


How can I request an invoice for my registration?
If you require an official invoice for payment of your registration fee, please email us at conference@yefis.org with your full name and email address.


Will I be refunded if I have to cancel my registration?
Unfortunately, no refunds will be issued. If the symposium is canceled, the full registration will be refunded to each registrant. Travel or housing reservation cancellations are the responsibility of the attendee.

Can I cancel my registration if my abstract is not selected for presentation?

If your abstract is not selected for an oral presentation or a flash talk, we might suggest you present your data in the form of a poster.

However, even if your abstract is not selected, we strongly encourage you to attend the symposium and get the opportunity to participate in our workshops specifically targeting early career researchers and network with peers from all over Europe (and the world) while discussing science.

No refunds will be issued upon cancellation.


Can I register on-site?

Registration was closed earlier than previously announced as we reached the limit set to ensure we adhere to health and safety guidelines at the venue. Registration on-site will not be possible.

Do I have to submit an abstract?

No, abstract submission is not obligatory.

 

How do I submit an abstract?

Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email with a link for abstract submission. Follow the link to complete the abstract submission form. 

 

Can I apply for a travel grant?

EFIS-EJI Travel Awards are offered in conjunction with abstract submission. Award recipients receive funds to assist with travel expenses to the yEFIS 1st Symposium.

Travel grants will be awarded on the basis of scientific merit. Membership to an EFIS-affiliated society is required to qualify.

Must I attend the conference on both days?

You may attend any part of the conference that you are available for. However, the registration fee remains the same.

​

I can only attend one of the parallel workshops in person, is it possible to access the other workshops after the conference?

All workshops will be recorded and made available online after the symposium.
 

Will I receive a certificate of attendance for the symposium?

A digital certificate of attendance will be sent to you by e-mail after the symposium.
 

How do I get to the symposium venue?

Directions to the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC) can be found in the section Venue on the top menu.

Where can I stay during the symposium?

Suggestions for accommodation options are listed here. No partnerships have been established between the suggested accommodations and yEFIS.

​

Is there a dress code for the symposium?

There is no dress code for the meeting.
